Erks start off with win
Erks travelled to Players on Thursday night and, after a slow start, blew them out in the second half. Mark Denchfield and Keith Pringle combined for 8 second half treys. Veteran centre, Dave Churches, provided Erks' first half scoring.

Another observation was that Southend coach and ex Tower, Saint and Hackney old boy, Gianni Lettieri, is almost as fat as Herdy!!

Erks scorers:
M. Denchfield 23, D. Churches 18, K. Pringle 18, C. Pringle 12, R. French 3, S. Herd 2, D. McCusker, L. Atkinson, R. Burns
