Erkenwald progressed to the semi final of the London Met Plate competition in a low scoring scrappy win over first Division team EY Knights. Having beaten 2 fellow London Met Premier teams in the league this week, Erks were firm favourites to proceed but didn't have it all their own way, particularly in the first half.

The Knights opened the scoring with a 3 pointer and then sat back in a zone for the whole first half. Erks failed to find their outside shot in the first quarter but Lee Atkinson and Garbage Time Dave Churches opened up in the second quarter hitting six consecutive outside shots to take a 31 - 23 lead.

Mark Denchfield also hit from outside at the start of the third quarter and by the time Erks opened up a 16 point lead, the Knights switched to man to man defence and went into the final quarter trailing by 13.

The first five minutes proved decisive as the Erks went on a 12 - 0 run behind drives from Declan McCusker, Rela Agbolegbe and Italian Dave and Erks closed out the game comfortably.
