Erks suffered their third defeat in a row to put the destiny of the EMBL league title firmly in the hands of Cardinals. Erks, having won the league and playoff double for the last 3 years, were soundly beaten by the new champions elect.
For the third time against Cardinals this season, Erks fell behind by double figures in the first quarter. Whilst on the two previous occasions, they managed to make a game of it (winning one and losing one), this time round they never got within 10 points of Cardinals. Only able to score 4 points in the
first quarter, Erks fell behind 24 - 4 at the end of the first.
Whilst they rallied, winning the next two quarters and drawing the final quarter, it was too much of a mountain to climb and the reigning champions must now try to salvage the playoffs instead.
Erks have played most of the season with only 7 players. Ed Bailey left because he thought the December Founders Cup game was on Xmas day, Martin Overare can only make Thursdays and can't tell anybody that fact until 6 o clock on match days, Gary Glennard and Chims have hardly made an appearance and this
has all taken its toll on training and games.
Erks scorers:
Declan 7, Adrian 2, Mark Denchfield 16, Robin 3, The Guru 9, Garbage 10, Lee Atkinson 2
