A remarkable second half comeback by the Erks kept their championship hopes alive.
Another awful start allowed a strong Cardinals team to gather confidence and run away with a 37-16 first half lead. The Erks cause wasn't helped with Mark and Martin turning up late and then being unable to get into rhythm and with the rest of the team's shots rimming out, the Erks looked to be heading for a heavy defeat.
Fortunately 26 second half points from centre Dave Churches, combined with Mark Denchfield's 14 turned the game around for the visitors. With all eight Erks registering points and playing great team defence the Erks eased home for an important win.
Erks scorers: Churches 29, Denchfield 14, Herd 11, Simms 4, Overare 4, Powell 4, Atkinson 2, Fun Ed 2
