A game of two halves summed this encounter between two potential title contenders at Gladesmore in Tottenham on Friday. The home side took full advantage of a lacklustre start by the Erks who went behind 28 - 18 by half time.
A switch of tactics by the Erks saw Adrian & Mark open up in the third with Erks taking the quarter 32 - 11 to go into an 11 point lead going into the fourth. Erks continued to rally in the final quarter and when home centre (ex part time Erk & journeyman) Tony Peltier was dismissed for arguing with the official, there was only going to be 1 winner as Erks unbeaten run in this year's EMBL campaign continued.
Rudy Robin failed to take the floor for the final 47 seconds of the game which could prove costly in a potential head to head at the end of the season if Erks need points difference to retain their title.
Erks scorers:
Declan 6 (100% from the corners and the free throw line), Mark Denchfield 22 (18 in the second half including 5 treys), Adrian 20 (13 in the second half including 4 drive pump fake moves), Robin 0, Herdy 13 (12 in the second half), Lee Atk 2 (100% from corner), Garbage 5 (1 field goal and 3 free throws from the ejection of Tony Peltier), Fun Ed - nil because he's left the club, Martin - nil because he didn't turn up
