Erkenwald 86 Forest 28

The Erks extended their EMBL winning streak to six games as they rolled over Forest on Thursday night. Right from the start, the young Forest team tried to set a fast paced game, hoping the older more "experienced" Erks wouldn't be able to keep up. However, that wasn't the case, as the Erks surprisingly showed up with 7 players and were ready to sub quickly and often to keep up.
First quarter action saw Dave Churches quickly take advantage of the fact that he was 4 feet taller than any Forest player. He managed to clean up the boards quite nicely and even score a few baskets too. The second quarter turned into the Martin Overare show as he scored 16 of the Erks 22 points on a number of aggressive drives to the basket. Although Forest doubled their first quarter scoring output from 5 to 10 points in the second quarter, the Erks ended the half on a positive note as Fun Ed Bailey came into the game and played a pivotal 2 seconds when Erks leader Declan McCusker went down with an elbow injury. During those key moments, Ed managed to throw down a semi-monstrous dunk. Unfortunately, it was on a basket that was not in play.
The second half of the game was much of the same. Fortunately for the Erks, Declan's elbow healed over halftime and he returned in true fashion as he hit a clutch 3-pointer in the fourth quarter that sealed the game. McCusker and Churches lead all scorers with 22 points each, followed by Overare and Canadian import player Adrian Leclair with 20 and 16 points respectively. Lee Atkinson, Fun Ed, and Dela Agbolegbe all notched a solid 2 points.
Erks Scorers:
Declan McCusker 22, Dave Churches 22, Martin Overare 20, Adrian Leclair 16, Lee Atkinson 2, Ed Bailey 2, and Dela Agbolegbe 2
